Alexandra Bridge, Hope, Canada

This magical looking bridge is a bridge to the past with a fascinating history that began in 1863. The Alexandra Bridge was named after Princess Alexandra of Wales when it was built in response to an increase in population. While the bridge has met with some tragedy (such as a flood in 1894), it has always remained in the hearts of many, leading to its reconstruction in 1926. Today, the bridge can be found within Alexandra Bridge Provincial Park, a 10-minute walk along an historic highway that is no longer used.
