Bau-Xi Gallery, Vancouver, Canada
BAU-XI (boe she) means great gift. Opened in 1965, it is the oldest contemporary gallery in Vancouver. A second location in Toronto in 1976 established Bau-Xi as a national gallery representing about 50 artists, from established senior artists to emerging talent. Pivotal artists, who form part of Canadian art history, represented by the gallery include Maxwell Bates, Joseph Plaskett, Alistair Bell, Ted Godwin and Don Jarvis. Mon to Sat 10 am - 5:30 pm, Sun noon - 4 pm.
