Carl Sandburg State Historic Site, Galesburg, IL
The acclaimed author and poet Carl Sandburg was born in this three-room cottage in 1878. Sandburg went on to write numerous poetry, children's books and his most famous work a six-volume biography about Abraham Lincoln. Guests can walk throughout the home, explore the garden and shop in the gift shop.
