Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, Hood River, WA


Over 80 mi (129 km) long and as deep as 4,000 ft (1219 m), the Columbia River Gorge is the only sea-level route that cuts through the Cascade Mountains. The gorge offers a plenitude of activities that include rock climbing, windsurfing, hiking, mountain biking and sightseeing. Within the Gorge are a number of spectactular waterfalls, including Multnoma Falls, the second highest, year-round falls in the U.S.A.
