Custer State Park, , SD
Located about 40 minutes southeast from downtown Rapid City, Custer State Park encompasses seventy-three thousand acres of land. Buffalo and other wild animals roam freely in the park and jeep tours can help to get an up-close view of these creatures. Park rangers lead guided nature walks and evening campfire programs. Roads, such as the Wildlife Loop, Needles Highway and Iron Mountain Road, run through the park highlighting some of the most scenic areas. Many landmarks and formations are outlined throughout the park as well as the Black Hills Play House. Ranger programs include guided hikes and Junior Naturalist programs, to name a few. The park also has museum and exhibits, taverns, churches, a casino, souvineur shop and plenty of tours (on horsesback, foot or vehicle). Send an Email (3)
