Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument, Hagerman, ID


The largest concentration of Hagerman Horse fossils in North America is located in the Hagerman Fossil Beds. The fossils preserved here are from the late Pilocene epoch, capturing the last segment of time and life prior to the Ice Age. Recreational opportunities in the area include joining in seasonally guided programs, fishing and hunting(within designated boundaries), bird watching and canoeing.
