Lake Athabasca, , Canada


Lake Athabasca is located in the northwest corner of Saskatchewan and the northeast corner of Alberta. The lake covers an area of 7,850 sq km (3,030 sq mi) and is home of the largest lake trout ever caught, a whopper at 46.3 kg (101.8 lb). The lake is home to over 20 fish species and the Lake Athabasca Sand Dunes are located near the lake's southern shore.
