Part of the Great Lakes, Lake Ontario is a recreational lake with a drainage basin that covers parts of central North America. While not the largest of the Great Lakes, Lake Ontario is an impressive 310 km (193 mi) by 85 km (53 mi), with an average depth of 86 m (283 ft). The lake supports popular recreational pursuits such as fishing and sailing.
