Mississippi River, , WI


Known as America's Great Road, Big River, Father of the Water and other nicknames, the Mississippi River has long played an important part in the history of the United States. The river was once a major exploration route and is now host to a myriad of recreational and commercial activites. The river flows through or adjacent to Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana. The river is part of one of the world's largest river systems.
