Muskallonge Lake State Park, Newberry, MI


Located 30 mi (48 km) west of Newberry, Muskallonge Lake State Park encompasses 217 acres (88 ha) of land full of forests, lakes and streams. This park was once the home of Deer Park, a lumbering town of the late 1800s that closed in the early 1900s due to pine depletion. Today this park offers excellent picnicking, swimming, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and hiking opportunities.
