New Haven Department of Parks Recreation and Trees, New Haven, CT
This authority is responsible for the many parks in New Haven. 17 percent of the city's 21.2 square miles has been reserved for parks. East Rock Park is one of New Haven's oldest and has walking trails, a rose garden and athletic fields. New Haven Green is the property of all New Haven residents and is the focal point for the historic district. It is the site of three 17th Century churches and a popular meeting place.
