Pike's Stockade, Fort Garland, CO


About 45 mi (72 km) southwest of Fort Garland lies Pike's Stockade, a stockade reconstructed from the notebooks of Zebulon Pike, who camped along the Conejos River with his men from 1806 to 1807. Admission to the stockade is free and open to the public from Memorial Day until early fall.
