Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge, Wells, MA
The refuge was established in 1966 to protect the salt marshes and estuaries for migratory birds and covers (at completion) 7,600 acres of land. More than 280 species of birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians have been identified. Open daily from dawn to dusk
