Refugio Nacional de Vida Silvestre de Culebra, Culebra, Caribbean


Dating to a 1909 commission from US President Theodore Roosevelt, this is one of the oldest preserves on the island. 1500 acres are a big draw for hikers, birders and all around nature lovers. Maps of the many trails may be difficult to find, but information is available through the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
