Located 50 mi (80 km) north of Houston between Huntsville, Conroe, Cleveland and Richards, Sam Houston National Forest covers 163,037 acres and offers an array of recreational activities, including camping, hiking, wildlife viewing, hunting and boating. Lake Livingston and Lake Conroe are noted for black bass and year-round fishing.
