Skookumchuck Rapids, Egmont, Canada
Twice daily, high tides force an astonishing amount of water through the passage between the Sechelt and Jervis inlets. This natural spectacle draws kayakers from all over the world, who come to experience the thrill of these rapids, also known as the Sechelt rapids. Low tide at the rapids reveals a rich marine habitat, and the surrounding Skookumchuck Provincial Park has a network of scenic hiking trails. ^
