The Liberty Memorial, Kansas City, MO


Built in remembrance of the soldiers who fought in WWI, the Liberty Memorial is found at the museum of the same name. It was opened to the public in November 1926. The memorial includes a 217-foot (66-meter) high tower with four stone figures at the peak to represent courage, honor, patriotism and sacrifice. Two museum buildings stands on either site of the tower with the names of Kansas Citians who died in the conflict engraved in bronze stones.
