Volo Bog State Park Ingleside, Ingleside, IL
Just 45 minutes northwest of Chicago and a few minutes east of Round Lake visitors can see Illinois' only quaking bog, which has an open-water center. The bog was formed when melting glaciers pushed underground over 12,000 years ago.
