As suggested by its name, the lake receives a fair amount of wind, so it is advised that water sports take place closer to shore to avoid the choppy waters. Three beaches exist in the lake, all long and sandy, ideal for families. Cross-country skiers and ice anglers can enjoy the park during the winter months.
