Wye Oak State Park, Queen Anne, MD

Wye Oak State Park is named for a 460 year-old oak tree that was named as Maryland's State Tree in 1941. Mother Nature reclaimed the tree in 2002, knocking it down in a storm. Next to the oak is a small brick building that has been restored to resemble a colonial one-room school house.
